Corporate Prayer

Communing with God All Together

During our online corporate prayer gatherings, our sole purpose is to come together with no other agenda but to simply commune with God of the Holy Bible, who is worthy of our time, our attention, and our worship. It is an opportunity to spend time and draw closer to our Holy God in unity, freely pouring out our hearts, offering thanks and praise, and aligning with His will and desires. Through our worship, individuals are moved to express their thoughts and emotions, whether it be joy, tears, singing, sharing Bible verses, expressing personal adorations, or even being still in quietness. As the Holy Spirit moves among us, there is always a new manifestation of the goodness of God, and we embrace the surprises He brings; such as manifestations of miraculous or inner healings James 5:16, liberations 2 Corinthians 3:17, new knowledge, understanding, revelations Galatians 1:12 of the Scriptures and greater clarity of our identities in Christ Romans 8:37.

We also make space for 'confessing to one another', and praying for specific needs and desires; brings great encouragement and support and reminds others that they are not alone.

What our corporate prayer is not:

  • Trying to make things happen by predicting and controlling how God moves.
  • Defining the presence and move of God based on striving or exuberant showmanship.
  • Seeking to escape from real-life difficulties, or seeking quick-fix solutions through prayer.
  • Confining God's goodness to our expectations and desires.
  • The length or volume of prayer is not always indicative of an anointed or powerful corporate prayer.

Ultimately, corporate prayer with Flourish in Peace Ministries is coming together to seek God for who He is, and not seeking God’s blessings Matthew 6:33!

"I thought prayer was reciting words in a monotone voice. When I joined the corporate prayer consistently, I found a sweet unity that naturally happened and it helped me know how I want to talk to our Lord, our Father. He became my friend, my Father, and one to whom I wanted to give thanks. What stood out to me in this corporate prayer is that in the hardest of days, how can I still give my thanks to God, because He is God? This helped me understand Him as the Creator of this whole universe, and as holy. I am incredibly grateful for the impact of corporate prayer on my prayers with the Lord. Together with my sisters in Christ, we supported and prayed for each other. Through these collective prayers, I understood how hope in Christ is the sustenance my spirit was yearning for. It was a gradual process, unfolding over many months of prayer together. " - (by E.G.).
